Books
The hardback first edition of my Creative Novel Writing is now out of print. I've managed to buy the last few copies at a good price, so for a limited time I can offer it to you at £7, plus £2.50 p&p.

Writing the Novella
The Return of the Novella! - Quietly, while we've not been looking, the novella is enjoying a resurgence (viz. Ian McEwan's On Chesil Beach). Contrary to popular belief, a novella is not merely a long short story or a short novel, but has its own particular qualities. If you like intense, and feel 15-40,000 words is more manageable than the 60-120,000 of the average novel, you might be interested.

I've just finished running what has proved to be a popular and, I think, successful novella-writing course in Plymouth. I shall be offering a week-long non-residential intensive Novella course in Exeter in the summer; please see Courses page after mid-May.

Painting exhibitions
The next one is the Artists' Market in Tavistock on Saturday May 3. Please also see my paintings page.

Performance
It seems that my sequence of prose poems, 'West', has offered inspiration to students on the performing arts course at Plymouth University. They will be showing a dance piece using my poems amongst other starting points on Tuesday and Wednesday 29 and 30 April at the new Roland Levinksy building.
